Privacy notice
This website, atifhashmimd.com, is an educational site published by NeuroSignal Insights LLC (OptimizeCognition), with content by Atif Hashmi, MD. In this notice, "I" and "we" mean the two together. The site explains brain health research. It is separate from OptimizeCognition's clinical practice, which has its own privacy policy at optimizecognition.com.
What this site collects
This site has no accounts or comment forms. It does not use advertising trackers, and it does not set its own cookies.
Free guides. If you request a free guide, I store your email address, which guide you asked for, the date, your approximate country (from your internet connection), how you arrived at the site, and whether you ticked the box to hear about new guides. This is stored in my Cloudflare account. I use it to deliver the guide and keep a record of what you asked for.
I email you about new guides only if you ticked that box or asked for it separately. Every email lets you unsubscribe, and you can ask me at any time to delete your information by writing to the address below.
Like every website, the company that hosts it (Cloudflare) receives basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address and browser type. Cloudflare uses this to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
Services this site loads
To show certain content, your browser connects to these companies, which receive your IP address and browser information under their own privacy policies:
- Google Fonts, for the typefaces on the page.
- YouTube (Google), for video thumbnails. Videos open on YouTube when you choose to watch them.
- Substack, for the newsletter signup box. If you subscribe, Substack stores your email address and sends the newsletter. You can unsubscribe from any issue.
Links to YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Substack and optimizecognition.com take you to those sites, and their privacy policies apply there.
If you email me
If you write to the address on this site, I use your email only to read and reply to it. Please don't send symptoms, test results, medical records or other health information. Email sent through this site is not part of medical care and does not create a doctor-patient relationship.
What I don't do
I don't sell or rent personal information, I don't share it for advertising, and I don't add guide requests to the Substack newsletter.
Children
This site is meant for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
Visitor statistics. This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages and links are used. It does not use cookies or local storage for this, and it does not track you across other websites. I only see totals, such as page views, referring sites and country, not information about individual visitors.
If this site starts collecting more, this page will be updated first and the date above will change.
